The Two Treasures: Tawakkul and Khushu’
Weekend Course with Shaykh Moutasem Al-Hameedy
We have a great program in store for you. Our next class is called “The Two Treasures: Tawakkul and Khushu'” with our special guest Shaykh Moutasem Al-Hameedy.
Shaykh Moutasem Al-Hameedy has been working in dawah for years. His work includes being an Imam and lecturer Abu Hurairah Center in Toronto and Ibn Taymiyyah Mosque in London, UK.
Join us as we explore how tawakkul (putting your trust in Allah) and khushu‘ (humility, focus, tranquility in prayer) play a critical role in our worship and relationship with Allah (SWT).
In this course we will explore a number of key subjects:
- What is the full meaning of tawakkul and khushu and why are they intertwined?
- How can you increase your levels of khushu’ in your daily acts of ibaadah (worship)?
- What does it mean to put your trust in Allah?
- How can tawakkul and khushu impact the life of a Muslim?

These two are an integral part of life for every Muslim. Without khushu’ and tawakkul we can find ourselves struggling to overcome many challenges.
Has your daily prayer become robotic and with no heart?
When faced with a difficult decision in your life, have you struggled to put your trust in Allah?
When you experience isolation and confusion, do you turn to Allah for guidance?
Allah tells us in the Qur’an about khushu and tawakkul:
“Successful indeed are the believers: those who have khushu’ in their prayer [humble themselves in prayer]” Surah Muminoon: Chapter 23, Verse 1-2
Allah also tells us:
“…And whoever relies upon Allah – then He is sufficient for him…” Surah Talaq: Chapter 65, Verse 3
This weekend course will help you develop a deeper connection with your prayers and with your Lord. You will feel empowered in understanding how these two elements can help you in your day-to-day life.
Here is the course schedule:
- Saturday (Jan. 18) – 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM
