Our Organization
The Assunnah Muslims Association (AMA) is the charitable organization that operates through two arms - AMA Community Centre and Masjid ar-Rahmah (Mosque of Mercy). Its mission is to create a welcoming community for all through spiritual uplifting, education, community engagement and promoting diversity and equity.
Masjid Ar-Rahmah (Mosque of Mercy) promotes spiritual development and Islamic awareness to our community here in Ottawa and around the globe. The AMA Community Centre focuses on community development and caters to people from all faiths and backgrounds.
Our humble beginning dates back to 1992 when we were only a few volunteers in number with little in the way of resources. We’ve grown quite a bit since then and our mission to serve the community has always remained the same.
We all have plenty of things to worry about in our daily lives: taking care of our families, leaving a good impression on our boss at work, studying hard in school to prepare ourselves for a promising career.
With so many things that demand our attention at different times of the day, many of us may forget about our faith and have our relationship with Allah weaken.
Here at the AMA we aspire to build Masjid ar-Rahmah into becoming the masjid whereby you rekindle your intimate connection with Allah and become a better Muslim. Whether you’re a scholar who is righteous or a new Muslim who is struggling with your practice, our goal is to help you reach new levels in your faith.
AMA Community Centre is known for investing resources where they are needed the most - in the youth, isolated seniors and women, and building local communities and neighbourhoods together.
Our Core Values
The Assunnah Muslims Association (AMA) aims at educating people on the teachings of our Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) and the consensus of the Muslim Ummah. We also aim to work in collaboration with other Islamic institutions for the unity as well as material and moral support of Muslims.

Risk Management
The Assunnah Muslim Association (AMA) is committed to providing an environment in which all individuals are treated with respect and dignity. Each individual has the right to participate in activities and events in an atmosphere which promotes equal opportunities and prohibits discriminatory practices.
