Assalamu Alaikum wa rahmatu Allahi wa barakatuh,

On behalf of the AMA board, I wish you and your family Eid Mubarak! Taqabbalah mina wa minkum Saleha Al-amaal. May Allah (SWT) accept our fasting and qiyam and save us from hellfire. And may He make us from the winners of Jannah and bless us to witness Ramadan again for many years to come.

Alhamdulillah, we were able to gather in the masjid to pray and break our fast together for the first time since the pandemic. After two years apart, we were able to return to full capacity and enjoy the spirit of Ramadan again with our brothers and sisters.

We successfully made it to the end of the month without any outbreaks thanks to Allah (SWT) and to all of you for adhering to our COVID-19 protocols by wearing masks and keeping each other safe.

We would like to say Jazakum Allahu Kheiran to all of you for your generosity throughout this past month.

Thanks to your generosity, we were able to raise $491,000 for our masjid. Your continued support is what has allowed us to grow and build this masjid over these past few years.

In addition to Masjid Ar-Rahmah, you also supported to the Gloucester Islamic Society, Kingston Islamic Society, Eritrean Canadian Youth Development, Somali Hope Academy and the Canada Bangladesh Education Trust.

We are so grateful to our volunteers, who helped us with everything from coordinating the parking to organizing our iftars and who worked diligently to keep Taraweeh prayers running smoothly every night. Jazakum Allahu Kheiran to our staff for all of their efforts, who went above and beyond while they were fasting to keep the community informed and provide diverse programming.

We would like to also extend our appreciation to Sheikh Ismail and to Sheikh Safwan for leading our Taraweeh prayers.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to highlight the contributions of specific communities and members for their support throughout this blessed month of Ramadan.

Thank you to our Somali, Pakistani, Egyptian and Bangladeshi communities, and to Human Concern International for sponsoring our community iftars. We are also grateful to many of the other communities who showed interest in hosting our iftars, including the Iraqi and Moroccan communities. May Allah (SWT) reward you for your intentions.

We would also like to give a special thanks to our sponsors, Hermes Fruits, for providing us with dates to break our fast, and to Booster Juice Herongate and Poulet Rouge in Rideau Centre for their continued support.

May Allah (SWT) keep you and your families safe and may He grant you success in this dunya and the akhira.

Eid Mubarak!

Sincerely,
Br. Jalil Marhnouj
