Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatu Allah wa barakatu,

My dear brothers and sisters in Islam, all praise is due to Allah (SWT). We praise Him and cherish Him and we ask Him to make us from those who listen and follow the best of what they listen to.

Ramadan Mubarak! On behalf of the Board and Imam of AMA (Masjid ar-Rahmah), I extend my best wishes to you and your family. May Allah accept from us our fasting and good deeds.

It is with a heavy heart we’re greeting you through the Internet only. In past years, we did this in person in front of hundreds of congregants in the House of Allah. This year is different due to the global situation and we ask Allah to alleviate us from this calamity.

We will miss you in the masjid this month. We will miss the children’s smiles, the sense of community we feel when breaking our fast, and standing side by side for Taraweeh in the masjid, among other things we used to do with one another in this blessed month.

Alhamdulilah, when Allah takes something away from us He replaces it with something else. This is an opportunity for us to reflect: an opportunity to teach our kids to pray Taraweeh at home, to learn the etiquette of Ramadan, to recite Qur’an and to increase in acts of worship.

Despite the challenges we’re facing, our masjid is still active. We transferred many of our programs online as you will see shortly — if you cannot come to the masjid then we will bring the masjid to you.

We are also running a campaign to extend food kits to families in need and we welcome your support. You will get the reward of helping someone to break their fast during this blessed month.

We ask Allah to keep us all safe and to accept our deeds.

تقبل الله منا ومنكم صالح الأعمال

Sincerely,

Jalil Marhnouj

President, AMA Board
