Holistic Medicine Workshop


 

AMA is proud to offer another workshop for the community to help you further your knowledge.

In this special workshop you will learn important lessons on holistic medicine such as:
  • Healing and remedies in the Qur’an and Sunnah
  • When should you ask a professional about herbal medicine?
  • How can Western and Islamic medicine be complementary?
  • What are in the differences in eating of Islamic vs. Cultural guidelines?

Date: Saturday, February 10, from 3:00 – 5:00 PM

Location: Community hall of Masjid ar-Rahmah (AMA) | 1216 Hunt Club Rd.

Language: Presentation will be conducted in Arabic and English

Ages: Girls and women of all ages

Speaker: Dr. Nivin Sharaf

Dr. Nivin Sharaf is a health care professional and teaches at the University of Ottawa Medical School. She is a researcher and public speaker who has been involved in medical education for the last two decades.

She strongly believes that for one to achieve optimum health there should be a balance between mind, body and spirit. She is also a Certified Cupping (Hijama) therapist.

Dr.Sharaf also provides courses for women and students to help educate them in different social, academic and financial topics.
