What is Laylatul Qadr?

ramadan mosque night

DEFINITION

Laylat-ul-Qadr is a night in the last ten nights of Ramadan and considered the holiest night of the year, in which the destiny of each person is decided, including their sustenance, lifespan, and other matters.

This special night is also known as the Night of Decree, Night of Power, Night of Value, Night of Destiny and Night of Measures.

The first revelation of the Qur’an was sent down to the Prophet (pbuh) with the angel Gabriel on this specific night.

This is a night that ranks higher than that of 1,000 months of worshipping and therefore, Muslims usually devote these last 10 nights praying and supplicating to take advantage of its blessings.
