Family Activities During Quarantine

Getting the right amount of physical activity, time with family, and educational periods can be challenging during quarantine. We have created a schedule that can help you navigate your family’s time during quarantine.

This timetable is proposed by AMA for families to utilize their time and this should be under parents’ full discretion.

 

Daily Schedule


10:00 AM – 11:30 AM: Prepare for your Day

Brush your teeth, shower, and get ready for your day!

11:00 – 12:30 PM: Education

Getting ahead is always a great initiative, and thanks to the Ontario government here are some learning at home programs for children and teens.

12:30 – 1:00 PM: Qur’an 

Daily Qur’an should be a necessity for you and your family. Spend at least 30 minutes a day memorizing, reading, or reciting the holy book of Allah.

Dhur Prayer – Time varies

1:30 – 2:30 PM: Reminders & Halaqas 

Daily reminders are a great way of learning. You can learn the Seerah of the prophet PBUH or listen to halaqas from our YouTube channel.

3:00 – 4:30 PM: Technology

Spending some time watching TV or browsing on the iPad is not a bad idea. However, make sure you are able to limit apps to include age appropriate content (This should be under parents’ discretion).

Asr Prayer – Time varies

5:00 – 6:30 PM: Physical Activity 

The Canadian Physical Activity Guide recommends that kids always get time for physical activity. This includes up to 180 minutes for toddlers – ages 4 & 5. Kids over the age of 5 should get at least an hour of physical activity daily.

7:00 – 9:00 PM: Social

Spending time with your family should be an essential daily activity. This can be done by discussing how your child’s day have been, what they have learned throughout their day, and other discussions.

Maghreb Prayer – Time varies

Isha Prayer – Time varies

10:00 PM – Bedtime

Brush your teeth and get ready for bed.
