On this Canada Day, our President shares a special message to highlight the special blend of Islamic and Canadian values which helped us deal with the exceptional times we are going through.

The government, faith organizations and social service agencies joined hands to serve the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The United Muslim Organizations of Ottawa-Gatineau appreciates so many of our community members who banded together and worked with partner organizations to help 3,000 families locally with COVID-19 relief.

We are grateful that our Muslim community continues to be compassionate and caring for all Canadians.

We are thankful to our Mayor and City Council for permitting us to make the adhan (call to prayer) publicly during the month of Ramadan. We are also grateful that our masjid and others across the country have reopened recently, albeit in a limited capacity.

Let us continue to be beacons of model character, be mindful of the health & safety of fellow Canadians, and support one another.

We ask Allah to deliver us all from this pandemic, protect us, and grant us success in this life and the Hereafter.
